Is Therapy Affordable?

Understanding the challenges that some individuals face when seeking therapy due to financial constraints, Gene approaches this with empathy and compassion. He firmly believes that everyone has the right to quality psychotherapy, regardless of their financial circumstances. To make therapy more accessible, he offers a sliding fee scale, reflecting his commitment to creating a warm and inclusive space where everyone can receive the support they deserve.


Gene Estrada, LMSW is currently a self-pay practice that accepts all major credit cards, cash, and bank transfers via an online portal. Each session is offered up to $75 for a 45-50 minute session.

Payment Policy

Effective 07/17/2023

Payment for all sessions is due at the time of service. Credit/debit card information must be provided at the time you book your first session to secure your appointment slot and to be kept on file to cover any cancellation fees. Your information is stored in our secure, confidential online platform, where we never actually see the full credit card number.


Payment for sessions will be run the day of the session to ensure no past due balances are owed. Any past due balances must be paid before the beginning of the next scheduled session. This is to maintain a balanced and transparent professional relationship, and settling any outstanding payments will help ensure that we can continue the therapeutic alliance effectively.

Cancellations

Cancellations and re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. 

Documentation Request Policy

If you would like to request an electronic or paper copy of your medical record and other information that I have about you I will provide you with a copy of your record, or a summary of it, if you agree to receive a summary.

Please allow up to 30 business days to complete any request for documentation. Requests are to be submitted via the secure portal by completing a release of information request form. All proper consent forms must be on file.

Upon receipt of documentation request, an invoice will be provided for requested services, detailing cost/fee and expected date of completion.

Before any information is completed or released, payment for services and any past due balances must be paid in full. 

EXPEDITED DOCUMENTATION REQUEST

Expedited request for a response or documentation within 1 business day is available for an additional fee of $150.00.

Expedited request for a response or documentation within 3 business days is available for an additional fee of $80.00.

Court Apperances

Any request for appearance, subpoenaed appearance, settlement conference, or deposition will be subject to a fee of $250.00 per hour, with a minimum charge of two hours. Such fees are due at least one week before the scheduled appearance. Please note: if an appearance request is received without a minimum of one week’s notice the appearance fee is due immediately and there will be an additional $250.00 express charge. Failure to provide the fee as specified constitutes release from the requested appearance.
