I am currently accepting new telehealth clients
Hi, I’m Gene! A Marine Corps veteran with 10 years of service and a lifetime of growing up in a military family. So, you could say I’ve had a front-row seat to transitions, change, and the occasional chaos that comes with both. That experience gave me a deep respect for resilience, adaptability, and the value of having a safe space to land when life gets messy.
I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
My approach to therapy is warm, down-to-earth, maybe some pop culture references, and focused on what matters most to you. I believe healing happens best when we can show up as our full, unfiltered selves. Awkward moments and all. Whether you're managing stress, navigating a big life shift, general adulting, or trying to improve your relationships, I’m here to support you in taking real, meaningful steps toward a life that feels more like your own.
I first met Joe during my clinical development, where he served as my LCSW-S supervisor. Today, I am proud to call him a respected peer and friend. While Joe maintains his own independent practice, I have long admired the deep compassion and expertise he brings to the therapeutic space. He is a native of Chicago who earned his Bachelor’s in Social Work from the esteemed Jane Addams College of Social Work and his Master’s from Loyola University of Chicago. With years of clinical experience, Joe brings a unique blend of high-level skill and a genuine heart to every individual he serves.
Joe’s clinical work is remarkably diverse, specializing in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. He is deeply committed to supporting the military community through readjustment counseling for Veterans and offers specialized care for individuals managing significant health challenges, such as cancer and ostomy care. His practice is also a safe and affirming space for GLBT-related issues, as well as for couples and families seeking to strengthen their connections.
What truly sets Joe apart is his ability to bridge the gap between clinical science and holistic wellness. He utilizes evidence-based approaches—including EMDR, CBT, CPT, and DBT—and carefully tailors each session to meet his clients' unique needs. As a Certified Jikiden Reiki Practitioner, he also blends these traditional methods with holistic techniques to promote deep, lasting healing. Above all, Joe is a dedicated family man who is truly passionate about helping others create meaningful change and live more fulfilling lives.
